 Il 1° febbraio del 1891 nasce, a Popoli in Abruzzo, Corradino D’Ascanio progettista e creatore dello scooter più amato al mondo: la Vespa. Il Vespa Club Rho Squadra Corse Cau non a caso ha scelto quello stesso giorno nell’anno 2015 per inaugurare il proprio sodalizio nella cornice storica di villa Burba in corso Europa 291 a Rho.

Giuseppe Cau è un pilota conosciuto per le sue prodezze vespistiche, tra le quali la Sei Giorni Internazionale di Varese corsa a Monza nel 1951, nel 2009 gli è stato conferito il titolo di Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana per “meriti vespistici”, da qui il fantastico e unico appellativo di “cavaliere della vespa”. In questi otto anni dalla rinascita il Vespa Club Rho non si è fermato, ma anzi, continuando con la propria voglia di diffondere il culto della Vespa, ha iniziato a organizzare delle iniziative promozionali dell’attività vespistica, per imparare le regole delle varie tipologie di gare completamente gratuite, presso lo spazio messo a disposizione da “L’Agricola” in via Rho 90 a Lainate(MI), rivolte a tutti i soci del Vespa Club d’Italia. Negli ultimi anni il Vespa Club Rho si è fatto promotore di molte iniziative a livello regionale e nazionale ospitando nel proprio territorio tappe del Campionato Italiano Rievocazioni Storiche e del Campionato Lombardo di Regolarità. Il prossimo 6 maggio con ritrovo presso “L’Agricola” di Lainate, si terrà la terza e ultima tappa del Campionato Regolarità Vespistica “Trofeo Edoardo Ceriani”, pilota della squadra corse del Vespa Club Rho anni 50/60, gara in cui parteciperà, con la vespa del padre, Nadia Ceriani.
